LOS ANGELES-- Rentech Nitrogen Partners, L.P. (NYSE: RNF) announced today the declaration of a cash distribution of $0.50 per common unit for the first quarter of 2013. The distribution is payable on May 15, 2013 to holders of record as of May 8, 2013.
Rentech Nitrogen's quarterly cash available for distribution is variable, based on the seasonality of planting, growing and harvesting cycles which is influenced by weather conditions. Excessive moisture has delayed spring application of ammonia in many regions this year, including Rentech Nitrogen's core trade zone. This has delayed the shipment of ammonia that the Partnership has produced and was scheduled to be delivered in March and April 2013 under pre-paid contracts for which the Partnership has collected 100% of the contract value. Rentech Nitrogen has elected to distribute a portion of the cash collected on these delayed shipments and expects to deliver these tons from inventory in May 2013.
Rentech Nitrogen reiterates guidance of cash available for distribution of $2.60 per common unit for the twelve months ending December 31, 2013 (as described in its press release dated March 19, 2013).
